In September 2017, Prosperity Now and the Institute for Policy Studies published The Road to Zero Wealth: How the Racial Wealth Divide is Hollowing Out America’s Middle Class”. The report highlights the growing racial wealth gap in the U.S., projecting that if current trends continue, the median Black household wealth will fall to zero by 2053. The Building BLK Wealth book was inspired by the Road to Zero Wealth report.
